Stockport Town U21s
As part of the club's strategy to provide opportunities for young people and a clear pathway for progression, the U21s section of the club was established in 2015.
Success at this level is not measured by league position or trophies in the cabinet, but by the number of players that progress into the first team or on to a higher level of football.
In a short space of time the number of players making the step up from the U21s to the first team has been significant.
The U21s, competing in the North West Development League have also had some success on the field of play as well. In 2015/16 under the tutelage of Jon and Eddie Adby, the team finished 5th in the Premier Division and reached the semi-finals of the Cup. The Adby's, popular figures with the younger players, stepped down at the end of the season to focus on their business.
The following season, with Ian Rimmer at the helm, the team finished 6th in the league. Due to family commitments Ian stepped down as manager although continued to support the club from a distance.
