Stockport Town host their second match in five days as they welcome Whitchurch Alport to Stockport Sports Village in the Hallmark Security League.
The Lions recorded their second consecutive home win of the season on Tuesday night following a comfortable 3-1 win over Greater Manchester rivals Prestwich Heys and Calum Sykes will be hoping his players can continue their 100% home start to the season.
Visitors Whitchurch come into this fixture having made a respectable start to the campaign, three wins in the opening five matches sees Alport sitting in the final playoff spot, and that will bring a boost to the club even at this early stage.
Alport arrive at Lambeth Grove on the back of 3-0 away win at FC Oswestry Town, where striker Simon Everall grabbed his 4th and 5th goals of the season and joint-managers Luke Goddard & Carl Everall will have high hopes for this season following their start.
Both sides have racked up goals already this season, Stockport striking 11 times in four games, and Whitchurch have found the back of the net 10 times in their opening matches, and so this game could be a goal-fest.
Stockport striker Adam Latham grabbed his third goal of the campaign on Tuesday against Prestwich and he will hope to increase that tally on Saturday and continue his form as a constant goalscorer having netted in three of Town’s first four matches.
An away victory for Alport could see them rise to top spot if other results go their way at the weekend, meanwhile a third consecutive home win for Stockport could see them break into the playoffs.
All the action at Lambeth Grove gets underway at 3pm.
