May 9, 2017

Stockport Town have moved swiftly to replace the departing Ian Rimmer by bringing in Jake Davies as Reserve Team Manager. Previously known as the U21s, the reserves will continue to play in the Cheshire County U21s League for the 2017/18 season.

Jake Davies a UEFA B qualified coach had previously managed Maine Road Reserves, and comes in to take over the reins at Stockport Town. He brings along with him assistant Tom Upton.

Upon his appointment Davies said "I am delighted to be named the new manager of the reserve team at Stockport Town. The club has fantastic facilities and I've been really impressed with the commitment and enthusiasm of the board and management team. They really want to take this club to the next level and I want to be a part of it."

Davies continued, "The relationship I have with Dave Wild is fantastic. He has complete faith in me to improve the squad and make sure they are pushing the first team very closely. 2017/18 is an incredibly important season for the club, and the reserve players will play a part."

"The club reflects the values and ambitions I have as a manager. I'm very much looking forward to starting pre-season and working with the players. The hard work has already started."

Davies will get straight into action by overseeing club trials taking place later this month.
