About the Opportunity
We are looking to recruit a Media Officer to primarily take on the following responsibilities:
Manage the club’s social media accounts, namely Twitter, Facebook & Instagram, producing scheduled content at regular intervals.
Provide match day tweet commentary for all home games and away games where possible.
Produce match reports following all matches, to be submitted to local press
Collate content for match programmes
About Stockport Town FC
Stockport Town FC are a semi-professional Football Club based in Woodley, Stockport. The club operates 3 teams - A first team in the North West Counties Football League, an U21s team competing in the Cheshire County U21s Development League, and an U18s Football Scholarship.
The club was established in 2014, entering the North West Counties for the 2015/16 season. Based at Stockport Sports Village in Woodley, the club have gained a good reputation in a short space of time, both for performances on the field of play and organisation off the field.
The club has a young and ambitious committee who want to take the club to the next level. There are excellent opportunities for anyone who wants to gain experience in an environment that allows for creativity and risk-taking. Essentially the club provides a blank canvas for someone to come in and have a real impact on the club, the community and the football world.
What are we looking for?
The successful candidate will ideally have:
• Good communication skills
• Be computer literate and tech savy
• Have a good command of English, particularly written
• Knowledge of football and desirably lower league football
• Time to commit to the role - 2 hours every Saturday, plus a minimum of 2 hours during the week.
Qualifications for this role are not a prerequisite, however the role may suit someone trained in media.
Previous Volunteers in this role have gone on to full-time employment within the industry.
Volunteers are provided with uniform.
Generally our volunteers do not receive expenses, however we would be willing to discuss this.
You would be expected to travel to away matches, though we could provide transport.
