The Lions ended their second pre-season fixture with a 4-0 win against Chaddertonians, with the goals coming from Keane Barugh, Terry Benson-Brewer, and two of the trialists.
Early on in the first half, Town would have plenty of chances to take the lead but would struggle to convert them due to Chadddertonians' excellent defending. Chaddertonians’ would also have their own chance to take the lead but Trialist A was able to take the ball away from their attack and clear it away.
Eventually, in the 22nd minute, a cross was played into the box and found the feet of Keane Barugh, who easily slotted the ball down the middle of the net and deservingly put the Lions in the lead.
However, after the goal, the visitors were had a couple of half chances to get an equaliser but resolute defending kept them at bay. Around the 30th minute, Chaddertonians were able to break through on the right flank and converted their chance, but luckily for Town, it was ruled out for a foul.
The rest of the half wasn’t as active until the 43rd minute when a cross was played in from the left flank into Trialist B, who was able to blast the ball past the keeper and extend the Town lead before half time.

Town continued to attack and if it wasn’t for some excellent saves by the Chaddertonians substitute goalkeeper the scoreline could have been a lot worse for the visitors.
Around the 80th minute, Rhys Ferguson had a great chance to make it 4-0 but his shot just went over the bar and out for a goal kick.
In the final moments of the match, Terry Benson-Brewer received the ball from a corner and was able to comfortably put it into the bottom right corner of the net making it 4-0 to Town. Two goals in two games for Terry.
