Match Preview. Charnock Richard. 12/04/25

10th place Stockport Town will be looking to maintain their league position by beating 12th place Charnock Richard at Stockport Sports Village on Saturday. 

The Lions will be looking to end the season on a high by winning their final two games, starting with The Greens at SK6.  

Last time out for Town, it was an unfortunate loss against league high-flyers Ramsbottom United. Two first-half goals from Luke Sephton and Oumar Camara sealed the defeat for the Lions. This result saw Town remain in tenth place but dropped points to allow teams like Burscough and Abbey Hey to close the gap on The Lions. 

The last time the Lions and the Greens played each other, it ended in a 2-1 win for Town away from home. The win was secured when both Kai Johnston and Keane Barugh scored early on in both the first and second half.  

The Opponents: 

Charnock Richard FC are currently in their seventh season in the NWCFL Premier Division after they achieved promotion from the NWCFL Division One. So far this season, Charnock Richard currently sit in 12th place and are looking to improve their league position by winning their final two games of the season.  

The Greens are currently on a four-game winning streak, having defeated Cheadle Town, FC Isle of Man, Irlam FC, and Barnton FC. Their most recent match ended in a 4-1 win against FC Isle of Man at the Bowl Stadium.
