Stockport Town play their first home game of the season on Saturday as they welcome Padiham FC to Stockport Sports Village

The Lions look to make it three wins in three games in the North West Counties Football League as they play fellow unbeaten side the Strokes.

Last time out for Town, it was a defeat against Chadderton in the FA Cup. It would end in a 2-1 scoreline with Town’s only goal coming from George Kattah.

This result saw Town get knocked out of the FA Cup during the Extra Preliminary Round.

The last time the Storks and the Lions played each other, it ended in a 2-2 draw for the final regular-season game of the 24/25 campaign. The goals would come from Adam Owen and Captain Sam Hare for Town; Meanwhile, for Padiham, the goals would come from Josh Briggs and Jack Price.

The Opponents:

Padiham FC are currently in their ninth season in the NWCFL Premier Division after being relegated back to the division during the 15/16 season. Last Season, the Storkes finished in fourth place and participated in the NWCFL Premier Division promotion playoffs, where they made it to the final, but lost to Lower Breck FC.

So far this season, the Strokes are currently unbeaten in the league after beating Wythenshawe FC 3-0 and beating Prestwich Heys 2-0. Padiham’s pre-season saw them have a record of four wins and one draw, with the wins coming against Rossendale, AFC Blackpool, Daisy Hill, and Kendal Town.
