Match Preview. South Liverpool (A)

The Play Off Chasing Lions travel to Merseyside to play new promoted South Liverpool in the North West Counties Football League Premier Division tomorrow.

The Lions are looking to get back-to-back wins in the NWCFL but need to beat South Liverpool this Saturday at Jericho Lane.

Last time out for Town, it was a dominate display as they ran away with a 3-0 win away from home against Pilkington FC. Two wonderful goals by Harrison Lomakin-Rogers and another goal by Harley Monaghan saw Town travel home with all three points and a big clean sheet.

That win saw The Lions move up a position into 10th place and within four points of the playoff places.

The last time, The South and The Lions played each other it ended in a 2-1 win for Town at Stockport Sports Village. That match was a part of a four-game winning streak for Town.

The Opponents

South Liverpool are in their first season in the NWCFL Premier Division after achieving promotion from the NWCFL Division One North last season. They did this by beating Ashton Town 3-1 on penalties in the playoffs.

So far this season they sit in 20th and eight points above the relegation zone.

The South’s last five games have seen them win two and lose three. Their most recent match ended in a 4-1 loss against last place Prestwich Heys on the 18th.
