Stockport Town made it three wins in three games after beating Denton Town by seven goals on Monday night

The Lions ended their third pre-season match with a third consecutive clean sheet as they beat Denton at Stockport Sports Village, with goals from Keane Barugh, Toby Green, Kylan Depeiaza, and multiple Trialists.

In the 19th minute, Trialist B from the right flank put the ball into Keane Barugh at the near post, who was able to backheel it past the Denton keeper and put the Lions ahead. Two goals in two games for Barugh.

Not long later, Trialist B once again had the ball on the edge of Denton’s box, but this time, instead of crossing the ball into the box, he decided to have a shot himself. Luckily for him, it ended up sneaking past everyone in the box and into the bottom left of the net, making the scoreline 2-0.

Once again, Trialist B had the ball on the left side of Denton’s box before playing it into Toby Green, who fired the ball into the top left corner of the net and put the Lions up by three.

Despite the match being a friendly, there was a booking in this match for Denton as their right back recklessly tackled Harley Monaghan.

At half time, Town only decided to make one change. Goal scorer Toby Green was replaced by Kylan Depeiaza.

In the 56th minute, Keane Barugh once again received the ball and fired it right at the keeper; however, due to a bit of luck, the keeper wasn’t able to get his hands on the ball as it deflected off him and into Trialist B, who smashed the ball into the back of the net making it 4-0 to Town for the second game in a row. After the goal, Town and Denton made multiple changes to the lineup.

In the 68th minute, Trialist D was able to burst through the Denton back line and square it to Rhys Ferguson, and he easily slotted the ball past Denton’s keeper, making it 5-0 just before the 70th minute.

Town would not stop pressuring the visitors' back line, and by the 75th minute, Depeiaza was able to convert his chance, making it 6-0. His chance was created by Jack Atkinson as he stole the ball away from Denton on the right flank before whipping the ball into the box for Depeiaza, who, smashed it into the net.

With 5 minutes left of the half, a cross was played into the box for Trialist F, and he jumped high to flick It over the keeper and made it 7 for the hosts.

Stockport Town’s next match is on Saturday, 19th July at Ewens Field against Hyde United 1pm Kick Off.
