Match Report: Ramsbottom United 3–3 Stockport TownNWCFL Premier Division | Saturday 13 September 2025 | Riverside Ground
Stockport Town battled to a point on the road after a dramatic 3–3 draw against Ramsbottom United in the NWCFL Premier Division.
The Lions made a bright start and their persistence was rewarded shortly before the interval, when Padden finished well after a clever one-two with Jack Atkinson. However, the hosts responded almost immediately, equalising in the 42nd minute to send the sides in level at half-time.
The Lions came out strongly after the restart and almost regained the lead when an effort struck the post in the 50th minute. Just a minute later, Atkinson did well before Benson-Brewer squared across goal for George Kattah, who made no mistake to put Town back in front.
Ramsbottom hit back again from the penalty spot midway through the half, making it 2–2 with 25 minutes remaining. The Lions refused to be deterred, and in the 76th minute Kattah struck again, grabbing his second of the afternoon to restore the advantage.
Yet, in a pattern that summed up the contest, the hosts equalised almost immediately once more, levelling the game at 3–3 where it remained until the final whistle.
It was a fiercely competitive fixture and, while Stockport Town will feel frustrated not to have held on for the win, the point keeps momentum going and underlines the side’s attacking threat away from home and extends the unbeaten run now to 4 games.
The club would like to thank the travelling supporters whose backing was once again invaluable. Attention now turns to next weekend, when the Lions return to Stockport Sports Village to host Runcorn Town in the FA Vase.
Starting XI - Schofield, Monaghan, Padden, Turnbull, Cole, Atkinson, Green, Hare (C), Kattah, Benson-Brewer, Barugh. Subs Kvaternik, Fowles, L. Bent, Gardner, Depeiaza
