Match Report: Stockport Town 1-0 Litherland Remyca FC

NWCFL Premier Division | Saturday 6 September 2025 | Stockport Sports Village

Stockport Town earned a valuable three points on Saturday afternoon with a 1–0 victory over Litherland Reymca FC at Stockport Sports Village. The result lifts the Lions into fifth place in the NWCFL Premier Division table.

In a closely contested match, chances were at a premium, with both sides working hard to impose themselves in midfield. The decisive moment came in the 6th minute of the match courtesy of Keane Barugh, who produced a composed finish to give The Lions the breakthrough and ultimately secure the win.

Reymca responded with periods of pressure, particularly in the second half, but Town’s defensive organisation and resilience ensured the visitors were unable to find an equaliser. The back line stood firm, while a disciplined team performance across the pitch preserved a clean sheet and the victory, aided by a brilliant 61st minute penalty save by Town’s Goalkeeper, Josh Schofield.

The final whistle confirmed another important step forward for Stockport Town, who continue to adapt impressively to life in the Premier Division.

Next up, the Lions travel to Pilkington FC on Wednesday evening, where they will look to build on this result and maintain their positive momentum.

North West Under 21 Development League | Sunday 7th September 2025

Stockport Town U21s produced a stunning attacking display on Sunday as they ran out emphatic 9–2 winners away at Charnock Richard in the North West Under 21 Development League.

Despite trailing 2–1 at half-time, the young Lions responded in style after the break, showcasing clinical finishing and relentless energy to turn the game on its head.

The goals came from across the team, with Joshua Fowles leading the way with a superb hat-trick. He was joined on the scoresheet by Kylan Depeiaza, Rhys Ferguson, Sam Adegoke, Dan Mallinson, Zak Landon, and Dan Okeke, as Stockport’s attacking depth proved too much for the hosts to handle.

The second-half performance in particular highlighted the side’s character and quality, as they controlled the match and punished Charnock Richard with wave after wave of pressure.
